Here, Still brings together the work of Francois Xavier De Costerd, Leah Gauthier, Sara Jones, Karen Rosenkrantz, Liz Shepherd and Andrea Wenglowskyj, artists who first met in graduate school, and have continued to return to one another in critique and conversation for over twenty years.
Shaped by a long, intermittant practice of looking together, the exhibition holds traces of an on-going dialogue that has unfolded across distance, time and shifting studio lives. What binds the work is not a shared aesthetic, but a shared attentiveness and comittment to making, that is slow, responsive, and deeply process-led.
Across painting, sculpture, printmaking, textiles and video, these practices move through duration rather than resolution. Materials accumulate, repeat and subtly shift, carrying the weight of attention over time. The works ask what it means to stay in relation, to ideas, to materials, to one another, without closure.
Here, Still is not a fixed position, but a kind of holding a space where looking becomes sustained, where practice becomes conversation, and where presence is understood as something continuously made.
